Dorothy B. Johnson was born on January 7, 1927, in Firth, Idaho,
to Felix and Clara (Styhl) Johnson. Dorothy attended Firth schools
and graduated Salutatorian of the Class of 1944. She married
James Elroy Trotter of Maynard, Iowa at Bethel Lutheran Church
in Firth, Idaho on January 17, 1946. Jim and Dorothy were the
proud parents of three sons: James E, Donald William, and John

Grandma Dorothy adored, and was adored by her grandkids and
great-grandkids. She enjoyed traveling to Germany, Arizona,
Colorado and Iowa to visit them before she moved to Iowa. She
also loved having family visit her in Oregon, taking them to the
Oregon coast and mountains, and had fun taking her greatgrandkids
to the lake to feed ducks. She grew the most beautiful
flowers and loved planting flowers for us. Dorothy had a great
sense of humor, loved to have fun with friends and family and
always had a smile on her face.

Dorothy is survived by her sons, James (Sandy) Trotter of Dayton,
Iowa, John (Marlene) Trotter, of Waterloo, Iowa and daughter-inlaw
Laksana Trotter of Sierra Vista, Arizona. She also leaves her
ten adoring grandchildren, Dawn Trotter, Angie Teter, Christie
McIntyre, W. James Trotter, Jennifer Trotter, Allison (Josh)
Miller, Nathan Mallas, Diane Hodgson, Donald Trotter, and Danny

Sandy Trotter) as a granddaughter. Counted among her survivors
are nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends Ellen Lingren and Garry
Poe of Albany, Oregon and many other special friends.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James, in
1974, son, Donald in 1993, sisters Mildred, Beatrice, and brother

Dorothy's wishes were to be cremated. A celebration of her life
will be held this summer in Maynard, Iowa where she will be laid
to rest next to her husband. Memorials may be left to the
discretion of the family.
